Chemical company Oxea today announced that it has mechanically completed its latest production plant for specialty esters, “Ester 2”, in Oberhausen, Germany, on schedule. This is a major milestone for the company. Oxea will now commence start-up activities at Ester 2 and will shortly be beginning production there. This new, ultra-modern facility will increase Oxea’s worldwide production capacity for specialty esters by over 50 percent. Oxea now has three specialty ester production units, and a fourth is currently being built in China. Specialty esters are used to manufacture a large variety of state-of-the-art industrial products, including for automotive and architecture applications, as well as for medical purposes.
“Oxea is seeing a steady increase in demand for its specialty esters worldwide. With our new production unit we will continue to improve our flexibility and delivery capacity and support our customers in their growth,” said Miguel Mantas, responsible for Sales and Marketing within Oxea’s Executive Board, commenting on the completion of Ester 2. “In our new facility we will manufacture key components for the production of innovative polymer films for which there is strong demand in the chemical industry.“
“Ester 2 constitutes an important investment in the Oberhausen site and will enable us to further expand our market positioning,” said Dr. Martina Flöel, spokesperson for the Oxea Executive Board and responsible for Operations and Technology. “On the one hand, we are strategically investing in new production capacity worldwide, as exemplified by our new facility in China. We are thus extending our geographical reach and expanding into growth markets. On the other hand, we are continuously enhancing our specialty chemicals expertise and our product portfolio,” she added.
